Our Roots in Kyajubira
JOKISSA COFFEE FARM is a family-rooted coffee farm nestled in Kyajubira Village, Kitanga Parish, Kimanya–Kabonera Division, Masaka City. For the past 11 years, our 120-acre farm has grown from a simple dream into a thriving home for premium Robusta coffee. Our story begins with our founder Ssalongo Kigozi John, who spent years working for a private company with no retirement plan or pension. That experience sparked a deep desire to build something lasting something that could sustain both his family and his community long after formal work ended.
With a lifelong love for coffee, passed down from grandparents and parents who were coffee growers, he began quietly buying land as early as 1997. By the time the first coffee seedlings went into the ground, he had already secured 60 acres. Today, 120 acres are under coffee, with plans to expand by another 50 acres by the end of 2027.
To reach the international market and uplift fellow farmers, our founder helped mobilize growers through KITANGA COFFEE FARMERS COOPERATIVE SOCIETY LIMITED, with JOKISSA Coffee Farm serving as the lead farm under the cooperative. Founded under Cert. No. P. 7861/RCS, the cooperative brings together smallholder farmers under a shared vision of quality, sustainability, and economic empowerment. Through continuous farmer engagement, training, and knowledge sharing, we promote sustainable farming practices and improve coffee quality across the region. Together, our members now steward more than 1,500 acres of coffee, creating stronger livelihoods and access to international markets. By working as a community, farmers benefit from better opportunities, shared resources, and stronger bargaining power. At JOKISSA Coffee Farm, every bean reflects the resilience of our farmers, the strength of community, and a shared commitment to a sustainable future through coffee.
